This was followed by the polygraph (1926) of Leonarde Keeler, a refinement of earlier devices."
There's a print for sale on eBay for a "Vintage US PATENT for LIE DETECTOR 1925 Art Print ..." which implies it was invented and patented in 1925. There's 48 million hits in www.patents.com for 'lie detector', but none for 'Leonarde Keeler'......
