I couldn't find who made the normal BAG... But I found out who made the first paper grocery bag: Margaret E. Knight (1838-1914) was an employee in a paper bag factory when she invented a new machine part to make square bottoms for paper bags. Knight can be considered the mother of the coomon day paper grocery bag.

Margaret Knight was an employee in a paper bag factory in 1868 when she invented a new machine part that would automatically fold and glue paper bags to create square bottoms for paper bags. Paper bags had been more like envelopes before. Margaret Knight's paper bag machine made flat-bottomed paper bags that are still in use today.
Margret E. Knight also invented a machine for cutting and folding paper bags, an improved machinery for producing square bottomed paper bags, and a device for creating the window envelope.

Luther Crowell did receive a patent for paper bags similar the accordion sided, flat bottom bag we use today. He also created the top zig zag pattern on the top of the bag to make it easier to open

The darker paper will absorb more heat and cause the bottom to be browner or possibly burn. I use regular typing or copy paper all the time. It tends to stick to the baked product more than parchment paper, but it pulls off with no problem.
