Carl Linnaeus was born May 13th 1707 and died January 10th 1778 aged 70 he was a Swedish botanist which means he performed scientific studies of plants, he was also a physician also known as a medical practitioner or medical doctor and a zoologist which is the study of animals. He also started the scheme of nomenclature which is the naming of species of animals and plants, he is also known as the "father of modern taxonomy" taxonomy sometimes alpha taxonomy meaning the science of finding, describing and categorising organisms
