Linux is not a company, so there is no chairman or founder.

There is, however, a primary maintainer and creator, who currently is the same person: Linus Torvalds, who created Linux and holds copyrights on many of the important parts of its code. He's also the final word on whether a patch will go mainline or not, and currently contributes the most an individual person contributes to the kernel.

The majority of kernel contributions come from companies (Such as IBM, Oracle,a and Red Hat.) and non-profits (Like Debian).
