Hiya, Isabella was a character who was in love with a handsome young Italian Man called Flavio. We have to study this in class... Can you help me with some facts? That's all I know!

1. Flavio and Isabella are know in Commedia Dell Arte as "The Lovers"

2. They are both in love but are also in love with themselves

3. Isabella was named after a particular actress, Isabella Andreini who, after performing so well, was honoured by the name change

4. Isabella stays very tall, on her toes when she moves and she flutters about, being blown about by the slightest of wind

5. She simply wears white makeup - no mask!!!

6. When she sees Flavio she performs the lover's trapeze

7. She NEVER touches anyone

8. She fans herself and is always breathless and about to faint as the wears an extremely tight corset

9. The actress who plays her is usually slight and tall however not taller than Flavio and is most likely beautiful
