Commedia Dell'arte is a form of theatre that uses masked actors to enhance the physical attributes of the characters. There is a major focus on the movement of the characters in this style of theatre and, therefor, it is one of the skills required for effective performance.

The style of Commedia Dell'Arte was extremly specific with all of the characters having their own style of movement and performance. Also, working with masks - like they did at that time- is also very physically demanding with there being rules you have to follow in order to perform with masks.

Not only this, but they had to also be skilled with things such as juggling, acrobatics and sometimes things such as tight rope walking ect...

Oh, and to top it all off, they had to be skilled in improvisation! Even though they had well thought out and planned scenarios - they used improvisation.
