On 09/10/2010, Demison was playing football in Canby. In the fourth quarter, he ran a 45-yard touchdown, winning the game for his team, and then he collapsed. He was having a heart attack. Lisa Lyver came down out of the grand stand and applied chest compressions for two minutes before Demison regained consciousness. Doctors discovered a defective coronary artery, but his heart is not damaged. He will miss the rest of the football season while he recovers from surgery, but he is expected to make a full recovery.
