Maleficent is the main leader of the enemy circle within Kingdom Hearts. She orders Jafar, Ursula, Oogie Boogie, Hook, and Hades into finding the keyholes and the seven Princesses of Heart. She is also one of the main reason's for Riku's involvement with darkness. In KH2, Maleficent is never versed as a boss but more of a sideline character.
Maleficent is from Sleeping Beauty and is the witch that caused Aurora to fall asleep and was the person who cursed her in the first place.
She did.
Yes, but you have to fight her first in human/witch form THEN in dragon form.

You get to it after beating Maleficent in her dragon form and going past the way near the save point in the arena where you fought her in the first time.
In "Kingdom Hearts," to reach Maleficent, you need to progress through the storyline in various Disney-themed worlds. You'll encounter her primarily in the "Hollow Bastion" area during key battles. Make sure to defeat the Heartless and complete the required tasks in each world leading up to your confrontation with her. Once you reach Hollow Bastion, follow the story prompts until you face Maleficent in battle.
In Kingdom Hearts, Hollow Bastion was an abandoned world taken over by the heartless and Maleficent. You were limited to only being in the castle. In Kingdom Hearts 2, people have gone back to live there and you are now in the town and NOT the castle. That's why it looks different. Also, Maleficent had not yet taken over the world yet in Birth by Sleep so it is still inhabitable and beautiful.

Yes and no. He isn't necessarily an enemy, but he is a protagonist throughout the majority of the game, due to Maleficent's dark influence and the darkness in his heart. He is still Sora's friend, just under control by Ansem. Riku always struggles with darkness, but is nothing close to an enemy after the events of the first Kingdom Hearts.
