In the absence of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, the Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha presides over the joint session of Parliament. If the Deputy Speaker is also unavailable, the President of India may appoint a member of the Lok Sabha to preside over the session. This ensures that the proceedings can continue smoothly even without the Speaker present.
