Wulfgar was a warrior and thane loyal to King Hrothgar in the epic poem Beowulf. He served as an advisor and messenger to the king, often delivering important messages or announcements on his behalf. Wulfgar was known for his loyalty and bravery in battle.
Wulfgar was the gatekeeper for Hrothgar in the beginning of the epic. He was sent by Beowulf to Hrothgar to tell him he had come to kill Grendel.
Wiglaf is much less boastful and less arrogant
Wiglaf is important because not only did he alone defeat the dragon that had conquered and defeated the mighty Beowulf. But he might in fact be the future Beowulf in this epic

In the epic poem "Beowulf," a mysterious old man leads Beowulf to the dragon's barrow. This old man happens to be a former slave who had stumbled upon the dragon's treasure and had taken a single cup from it, provoking the dragon's wrath.

In other words, heroes go beyond their comitatus to their own lord and help other countries or anyone in need.Yet Beowulf was also intensely motivated by Hubris.
