Indians because at first the pilgrims just came and invaded there land when the Indians were living there peaceful
I'd say either a turkey or the cornucopia. The turkey is the most widley used symbol but the cornucopia is probably the better of the two
Yes they did because the crops weren't enough to eat
The American Thanksgiving is an American holiday, giving thanks for all we have as Americans. Historically it represents the feast between the English Pilgrim emigrants and the American Indians in the new England area of north east United states in the late 1600s. The story goes that the Indians taught the pilgrims how to farm on the new land and the Pilgrims taught the Indians how to build better shelter. They exchanged food and many ideas at this feast. The main course was turkey.
I presume it was because the Native Americans introduced the bird to the Pilgrims (but not necessarily on Thanksgiving Day). It was a large bird that was not migratory and therefore was available throughout the year. It was large enough to feed more than one family. Have you ever eaten a wild turkey? Moma-mia! If cooked right, it tastes much better than a Butter-Ball and a lot less fat in your diet. Wild turkeys feed on acorns and other natural products(including insects and small reptiles, etc.) that give them a totally different taste.
Tisquantum(better known as Squanto) was a Patuxet. He was the Native American who assisted the Pilgrims after their first winter in the New World and was integral to their survival.
No, cowboys are not better than Indians, though some might believe they are. Of course, others might believe Indians are better than cowboys.
A collective representation of ones work which he/she has done towards better public representation of self.
The turkey is native to North America. It was abundant and common game for the early settlers of the New World. It is typically a large bird and will feed a larger group of people then a chicken or duck would. Also, because they figured the Turkey would represent the Native Americans better in Thanksgiving.
