Almost everyone alive today is affected in some way by Christianity. Although in most Western societies, church attendance is often as low as five per cent, Christians usually make up more than fifty per cent of the population and are often quite vocal about their view of society, influencing non-Christians. And some of the most worthwhile charities are run by Christians.

In countries such as China and Japan, where Christians make up a very small part of the population, Christmas is a popular secular celebration.
