Ahmose was the King of Thebes during the Second Intermediate Period of Egypt (meaning the empire was split into three states), and was the driving force in its reunification. Specifically, he was the founder of the 18th Dynasty, with his notable successors in the line including Hatshepsut, Thutmosis III, Akhenaten and Tutankamun.
