Dialga is much better than Giratina's Altered Forme. However it must bow to The Orgin Forme. Orgin Forme provides higher Special Attack. Dialga's Steel type provides for many Resistances. The Steel-Dragon type duo leaves only four 200% super effective weaknesses: Fighting, Fire, Fire, and Ice (though steel type moves WILL do SERIOUS DAMAGE to Ice types. The Steel-Dragon duo also leaves no 400% weaknesses.

Where is garatina?
Garatina can be found in the spring path on Route 214 after you beat the Pokemon Leauge on regular Diamond and Pearl. If you have platinum, Garatina (origin form) is found at the spear pillar when you would normally go and capture Dialga or Palkia. If you go along with what ever goes on up there, you can go through the portal to the distortion world with Cynthia to capture Garatina at the end at I think it's level 47 for all of the versions. And that's where Garatina is located. :)

You can get it if you get an event arceus from another game and transfer it the you go to the ruins of alph then talk to a guy and then you will eventually have the choice of girantina dialga or palkia there all lvl1 with their orbs
