Who is better paras or marines?

If you were to compare the U.S. Army's Ranger School and the training of say the 75th Infantry Regiment with the training of say the regular U.S. Army Airborne Troops, there is no comparison. Ranger School is a small unit leadership course. If say a member of the Ranger Regiment goes to 14 weeks of Basic Combat Training and Infantry Training. the 3 weeks of jump school, the 4 weeks of Ranger Indoctrination Training, then 2 weeks of Pre- Ranger Training, the 9 weeks of Ranger School, well then compare that to everyone else how does he stand? The fully trained ranger infantryman rank E4 Specialist may top all of them save SAS, SBS or U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers. In a conventional war they might even out fight all of the super soldiers! You could throw in Navy SEALs, of 1st SFOD "D" or some other "National Missions" Tier I Level Type Unit. What would the point be? Specialist roles are largely another way to get to war. I served in 50 man U.S. Army detachment until my recent retirement. In my Army detachemnt we had an unprecidented 18 former Marines, one former Navy SpecOps guy and several former Air Force guys and gals. over 50 percent of the unit had been down range at least twice. What did we do you might wonder? we were a lowly theather level transprotation unit. My fellow solders, Marines, etc. could shoot, move and communicate with the best of them...

What is the bottom line? When the bullets start flying past your head, we all bleed the same. Train as you fight and fight as you train. The more you sweat in peace, the less you will bleed in war! I am glad I am retired now.

I should point out that the US rangers are not as good as either the Parachute Regiment or the Royal Marines. Both regiments do extensive training, way more than any other NATO unit. The British Marine is at the same level as a Navy Seal, when intended role is taken into account, and there is really no equivalent in the US army to the Paras.
