Grima, also known as Wormtongue, is King Theoden's adviser. Unbeknownst to the king, Grima is also a servant of Saruman the White. He fills the king's ears with Saruman's lies in order to keep him from taking any action whatsoever against the rising forces of darkness. In The Return of the King, Grima turns upon his master in the Shire, killing him before he himself is shot.
