Most people are not happy or sad about it. Also, it wasn't technically a demotion; Pluto was placed into a more specific category of planet.
No. Pluto is still perfectly intact. It was, however, demoted as it does not meet the new definition of a planet.

Pluto is probably nearly 50% water ice. Of course, it was demoted to "dwarf planet" status.
No, Mercury is the smallest of the planets, now that Pluto has been demoted.
The main reason is that it is so far away from the Sun, that it is considered part of the Kuiper belt - not the solar system. There are similar sized objects to Pluto in the Kuiper belt system, and thus Pluto was 'demoted' to dwarf planet status.
Makes me want to go there one day in the uture like 2025. it make me want to hurt whoever demoted Pluto from planetary status >:(
Mercury is all rock, Pluto is largely ice. Mercury is a planet, Pluto was recently demoted from planet status. Mercury is the closest to the sun, Pluto the farthest away. Mercury is very hot, Pluto is very cold.
Most recently that would be Pluto. But Pluto was not the first object called a planet to be later demoted. The asteroid Ceres was known as a planet for a longer period of time than Pluto was.
Pluto was demoted from being a planet to a dwarf planet in 2006 by the International Astronomical Union. This decision was made after the definition of a planet was revised, and Pluto no longer met the criteria.
