Teddy Ruxpin originates from the United States, invented by Ken Forsse of Worlds of Wonder. Teddy Ruxpin is a talking bear, it was very popular in 1985-1986.
Teddy got his name from his creator, Ken Forsse, who originally had named the character Simian Greep. Forsse ended up not liking the Greep name. After deciding to chnage the first name of the character to Teddy, Forsse borrowed Teddy's last name from a character in the property then named Prince Ruxpin (who would be re-named Prince Arin) WoW, the original manufacturer of the talking Teddy, did not like the Ruxpin name and tried different names out with focus groups in hopes of convincing AlchemyII to change the name. All the children in the focus groups preferred Ruxpin, and the name stuck. Teddy got his name from his creator, Ken Forsse, who originally had named the character Simian Greep.
