Lady Ada Lovelace collaborated with Charles Babbage on the Analytical Engine. Her notes on this engine include what is recognized as the first algorithm for a machine.
Ada Lovelace was a mathematician and is known as the world's first computer programmer. Her mother, Lady Byron, actually encouraged her interest in these fields, which were unusual for women at the time.

Lady Lovelace, or Ada Lovelace, is properly known as Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace. She was born December 10, 1815 and died November 27, 1852. Lady Lovelace is considered to be the first person to write a computer program.
