i mean there arent really any good symbols... i have a project on Perseus and i have to find the same thing. im just gunna have to say Pegasus because it emerged from Medusa after Perseus slayed her. so i would give that a shot.. * * I would say the winged shoes Persues borrows from Hermes represented freedom because Perseus was free of his quest when he finally fled from the Gorgon Medusa's sisters, or you could also say that the helmet of invisability symbolized the same thing for the same reason....... I don't know, this is a difficult question... All of the answers above (pegasus, winged sandals, and the helmet of darkness) are correct and there is also a few more. There is the Gorgon, Medusa'a head. There is the golden shield that Athena gave to him so he could see the reflection of Medusa so he wouldn't be turned to stone by her glance. There is the magical bag that Hermes gave to him when he gave him the sandals so he could keep Medusa's head in it. And lastly, there is the magical sword that Athena gave to him that wouldn't break when it hit the gorgon's tough skin.
