Fame is relative to the group of people who are assessing its degree. "W" and Lady Gaga are both widely known. Young people tend to be weak on history and Bush has been out of office for almost 4 years, so if you poll the grade schools, you might decide that Gaga is far more famous. Gaga is more current, is still making news, of sorts. On the other hand, 100 years from now, Bush will still appear in the history books and it is doubtful that anybody except pop culture students will know anything about Lady Gaga.
