Amelia Earhart was a Democrat and supported a New Deal course of FDR, with whom (and his wife Eleanor) they were personal friends. She campaigned for FDR in the 1936 elections.
Amelia Earhart's best friend was Eleanor Roosevelt, a former first lady of the United States of America.
yes Eleanor Roosevelt did during a tea with Amelia she took her in the plane = = = Eleanor Roosevelt was close friends with the famous pioneering aviator Amelia Earhart. On one occasion Amelia Earhart invited Eleanor Roosevelt to take a flight over the capital, which Eleanor accepted. To mark the occasion Amelia wore an evening gown while piloting the aircraft. During the flight, Amelia promised to teach Mrs Roosevelt how to fly and towards that goal, the first lady obtained her students' permit. Sadly, due to Earhart's disappearance, the First Lady never began her official flying lessons.
