If you mean a mint mark on the reverse of the coin, it's a D or S but not a P. Please look at the coin again.

A 1914 Barber Quarter in superb condition that was graded by PCGS at MS65 might sell for $750-$1000, whereas a coin graded very fine might be $28 or so.
