The largest denomination of New Zealand paper currency is the $100 note.
Ernest Rutherford (1871-1937), also known as Lord Rutherford of Nelson, appears on the New Zealand 100 dollar note.
A very good used example is worth $0.75, rising to $12.50 in mint uncirculated condition. (used = $1 NZ Dollars, unc = $17 NZ Dollars)

Kate Sheppard is the person on the $NZ10 note. She was a driving force behind women's suffrage in NZ - a world leader in that movement. For an encyclopedic source, go to rbnz.govt.nz where there is a good section on NZ coins and notes, including history of them.
