Who is responsible for cases involving copy right violations?

The ones responsible for copy right violations would be those who copied a logo or set of words from something that belongs to someones else of course. The thief is responsible to those he stole from if he is going to make it right.

Of course, now a days with so much online within easy access and reach, it is sometimes hard to know if you are copying something that is free for the taking or not. It is entirely possible, I would think, that poor ignorant web surfers may be unintentionally copying and plagiarizing others copyrighted works all the time. I just don't know.
