Suvir Misra is a disciple of the Dhrupad maestro Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar and Nirmalaya Dey. He is one of the few left hand practitioners of the Veena family of Indian Lute who performs on three Veenas from the Hindustani and the Karnatic Tradition viz. the Rudra Veena, the Saraswati Veena and the Surbahar. He has also been trained in Khayal, Sitar and Tabla by various teachers including Pt. N.R.Rama Rao (Sitar), Pt. Uma Shankar Mishra (Sitar), Shri K.N.Ienger- a grand disciple of Pt. Eknath Pandit (Gwalior Khayal) and Late Ustad Bandu Khan Sahib of Ajarada Gharana (Tabla). He has performed all over the country.
