Subjective question - Its a matter of opinion as to who's the "second best coach in Patriot History" but these would be the canidates on most lists: * Bill Parcells (1992-1996) 32-32 .500 winning percentage, 2-2 playoff record, rebuilt the team, lead the Patriots to 1 Super Bowl berth. * Raymond Berry (1984-1989) 48-39 .551 winning percentage, 3-2 playoff record, led the Patriots to 1 Super Bowl berth. * Chuck Fairbanks (1973-1978) 46-39 .541 winning percentage, 0-2 playoff record. * Mike Holovak (Boston Patriots 1961-1968) 52-46 , .528 winning percentage, 1-1 playoff record, Led the 1963 Patriots to the AFC title game. Personally, I think the Best Coach (besides Bill Belichick) would be Bill Parcells. He, along with a new ownership group, rebuilt the Patriots, turning them into a contending franchise after years of being one of the worst teams in the league. That alone qualifies him as the "second best of all time" in my book. In terms of performance, its hard to argue with what Raymond Berry was able to accomplish with the team. He turned out a decent team year after year and led the Patriots to their first Super Bowl berth in franchise History.
He has been arguably their best player in the franchises' history
