We have Rabbis, and they lead Synagogue services and officiate at weddings etc. But they are ordinary people, equal with all other Jews and all other humans. They do not act as intermediaries between us and G-d, we speak directly to G-d. Rabbis are, above all, scholars, and are well versed in Torah and Talmud. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
