"Mountains beyond mountains" reflects the concept of the never-ending, that after this mountain there is another one and that there is always another mountain; these mountains may represent the problems of life. The title reflects the constant hardship of life and the continuous struggle of the individual on a daily level. You may climb one mountain, but there is still another, and another to be climed. Also, Haitians believe that the saying "mountains beyond mountains" refers to the inner struggles of an individual, that there is more than what appears and that within a person there are continuous issues.
