There were many viceroys who ruled Mexico during its 300-year period as a colony of Spain. Some of them include Antonio de Bucareli (1771-1779), Felix Calleja (1813-1816) and the last viceroy of New Spain, Juan O'Donoju (July 21 1821 - September 28 1821).
