Symphony No. 3 by Ludwig van Beethoven, also known as Eroica, which is Italian for heroic. The piece is composed in E flat.
Beethoven dedicated this piece originally to Napoleon Bonaparte but he changed that when Napoleon proclaimed himself emperor. Beethoven later dedicated it to the memory of a great man. ( as in the man Napoleon used to be, before he proclaimed himself emperor ).

Every composer that has choosen to write three or more symphonies has composed a Symphony No. 3. A short list of composers who have written a Symphony No. 3 include: Beethoven - 9 Symphonies Mozart - 41 Symphonies Haydn - 104 Symphonies
All of Beethoven's symphonies were given numbers as names. Some, however were given titles too. For example, the 3rd symphony was named the 'Eroica' Symphony and the 6th symphony was named the 'Pastoral' symphony.
Beethoven's "Eroica" Symphony was written during his "Middle" period of composing, which began shortly after he was beset with deafness. Beethoven's music of this period developed towards large-scale works which expressed heroism and struggle, and included six symphonies, starting with the "Eroica", and including the expressive Fifth Symphony. The "Eroica" was written five years after Beethoven began to experience symptoms of the deafness that would eventually rob him of the ability to hear his own magnificent compositions.

While there are a number of "Fifth Symphonies," by far the most well known is Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. A symphony is a themed collection of pieces of music, composers didn't "name" them in the pop music sense but gave them titles according to the key in which they are written i.e. "Symphony in C", however once you have written more than one symphony in the same key it becomes necessary to number them, so a "fifth symphony" is the fifth symphony written by a composer.
