As of 19th November 2014, the First Minister of Scotland is Nicola Sturgeon.Sturgeon was previously the Deputy First Minister under Alex Salmond. She was chosen as the new leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) after Alex Salmond's resignation in September 2014.Sturgeon is the first female to both become First Minister and lead the SNP party.
