Depends. Ultimecia from Final Fantasy viii would probably be the most powerful if she happens to cast time compression. other than that, probably Kefka from final fantasy vi when he becomes a god.

It really depends on which role they are in, but here are some of the answers.

Snow is the best Sentinel by far, and has highest HP

Fang is really strong, a great com, and all around great, some say the best.

Sahz's blitz is great because it has a wide AoE.

Vanille is good with magic, and is perhaps the best Sabateur and maybe best medic, maybe 2nd to hope in medic tho.

Hope is best with magic.

Lightning is Great too, as Com shes great, as rav shes very good, and medic, well, ok, for medic, her abilities are lacking until high level crystarium (isnt able to learn cura until chapter 11 just b4 role level 4! By then Vanille has Curaja, curasa, ie much better spells.
