well Frankenstein created the creature for selfish reasons, he dug up dead bodies when the university stopped supplying him with bodies, he hid what he was doing from mankind, and once his creature was animated, he screamed at how ugly it was and ran away. after it's creation, the creature sets about the world learning new things, he is met with nothing but hatred, and therefore goes crazy. he kills frankenstein's younger brother william, resulting in someone else going to jail being accused of murder, he also killed clerval, frankenstein's assistant, and he killed frankenstein's wife of the day of their marriage.
