Answer #2

There have been close to 2,000 people climb it and close to 200 die trying.

Sir ranulf fiennes also climbed mount Everest
many people climb (but that does not mean its easy) but the first was Mr.Hillary
The first person to climb Everest was Sir Edmund Hillary, with Tenzing Norgay in 1953.
I'd absolutely love to be able to do it one day. I'm thinking of doing the Everest Base Camp trek as a starting point, apparently it's still quite a difficult climb and the views from the bottom of Everest are still pretty fantastic! Apparently these people run a really good trek taking you from Kathmandu to Lukla then on to the base camp in twenty days

Is Mount Everest a tourist atraction?

There are many tourist-related treks and tours in the Himalayan region, particularly in Nepal. Everest Base Camp - the staging area for summit attempts up Mount Everest - is a popular place to visit for trekking holidays, and often is where treks culminate. The Everest Base Camp trek is the classic route - it follows the route that Edmund Hillary took as he approached Everest for his famous Everest ascent. Although a certain level of fitness is required, this is the best way for regular tourists to visit Mount Everest.
