There is no one person who is president of either part of the world: North America and South America are continents and they contain many countries; for example, each of the countries in South America (Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, etc.) has its own leader. Mr. Obama is president of what is called the "United States of America." The United States is situated in North America, which includes Canada (with its own leader), the USA (with President Obama), and Mexico (with its own leader).
