There is no vice president in Germany under their constitution. The President of Germany (Bundespräsident) is the head of state but not the head of government - that position is called the Chancellor.
Should the presidency become vacant, the authority would be assumed by the President of the Federal Council (legislative upper house).
The current Vice Chancellor of Germany is Sigmar Gabriel. He has been in office since December 17, 2013. He is also the leader of the German Social Democratic Party.
Sigmar Gabriel is the Vice Chancellor for Germany.
