There was no Red Army, only the Red Guard. The Red Guard was basically mobs of middle schoolers running around looting "capitalists"' homes and deciding who they thought supported Mao. Mao did not actually create the Red Guard, it was started through schools. But he reviewed the Red Guard and supported them. They fought no wars, but were a group in China during the Cultural Revolution.

In 1949, Mao Zedong's Communist Red Army defeated Chiang Kai-shek's Nationalist party in a civil war. The latter retreated to Taiwan, and Mao announced the establishment of the People's Republic of China, with himself as Chairman.
Zhongguo renmin yinhang to give it it's correct term is the currency used in China and yes- Mao Tsetung's portrait is on many of the notes of higher denimination. Similat to Iran, Iraq and North Korea they just love to put their portraits on the currency.
Mao's Little Red Book is another name for the small pocket book called 'Quotations from Chairman Mao Tsetung' it is called the Little Red Book because the books jacket is the same colour as the comminist flag: Red. The book is full of Mao's sayings from his speeches and adresses. During maos rule almost every person in china had a little red book.
