Only God is worshipped. No saint, even the Blessed Virgin Mary, is worshipped, at any time. However, on All Saints Day we venerate, or honor, all those saints, known and unknown, who are in Heaven but may not have a particular feast day sometime during the year. By extension, All Saints Day also honors all those in a state of grace, both still alive or in Purgatory. All are members of the Communion of Saints, also known as the Mystical Body of Christ.
When we honor the saints we honor their Creator. This is similar to when we honor a painting, sculpture or piece of music. In doing so, we directly honor the artist who created the work
