Specifically, Macduff kills and beheads Macbeth for having killed King Duncan (d. August 14, 1040) and the entire Macduff household, in Act V Scene VII of the play "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare (Baptized April 26, 1564 - April 23, 1616).
According to the historical record, Macduff exists but is not responsible for Macbeth's death. Instead, it is the work of Duncan's son, who becomes King Malcolm III.
