Macduff in the Shakespearean play, and King Malcolm III (d. November 13, 1093) according to the historical record, are the killers of Macbeth (d. August 15, 1057).

Specifically, Macduff kills and beheads Macbeth for having killed King Duncan (d. August 14, 1040) and the entire Macduff household, in Act V Scene VII of the play "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare (Baptized April 26, 1564 - April 23, 1616).

According to the historical record, Macduff exists but is not responsible for Macbeth's death. Instead, it is the work of Duncan's son, who becomes King Malcolm III.
