Ali never died. The person everybody thought was Ali was actually Courtney, Ali's twin sister. Courtney was who Aria, Hanna, Emily, and Spencer were friends with. Courtney was pretending to be Ali because Courtney had a mental condition and was put into this mental facility. When she was visiting home, she pretended to be Ali and took her sister's ring that said "A". So, when Ali's mom was ready to take Courtney back to the place, she took the wrong child. She took Ali instead of Courtney (Courtney was the crazy one). Courtney then dropped Ali's old friends since she didn't know them and became friends with Hanna, Aria, Emily and Spencer. When Ali got out of the mental place, she was so mad at Courtney for stealing her life that she killed her in the woods at the sleepover. Ali killed Courtney and buried her. Mona was "A". She knew all their secrets cause she found Ali's Diary. They found out when Mona ran over Hanna. Hanna didn't die. When she awoke from her coma she got a text from "A" (Mona) but it wasn't from A's phone, it was from Mona's. Then Mona lead Spencer to believe that her sister, Melissa killed Ali. Then they were supposed to go to the police station, but Mona drove them Into the Woods. Mona and Spencer got into a fight and Mona falls off the cliff. The real Ali becomes "A" after Mona dies. When the Real Ali come back to town she pretends to be Courtney, then eventually she tells them she's the Real Ali.
