Robespierre brought the Reign of Terror to France opposing anybody who was against the French Revolution. He killed between 16,000-40,000 people but eventually people were afraid of getting their heads cut off so he was arrested and executed by the guillotine.

The Jacobins. The Reign was mostly controlled by Maximilien Robespierre and, in the begining, Georges Danton, but he was killed by Robespierre after he spoke out against him.

Maximilien Francois Marie Isidore de Robespierre was executed on the 28th July, 1794 in the Place de la Revolution, Paris along with Louis Saint-Just and Georges Couston as well as nineteen others. The crowd cried "Down with the tyrant!" as he was about to be executed. It is belived Robespierre is the only person to have been executed by the guillotine face up so he could see the blade approaching.

He killed thousands of people, sending them to the guillotine, just because they still believed in the monarchial system Maximilien Robespierre wanted to get rid of so desperately. He killed everybody that thought differently than him. He was the creator of the reign of terror and was eventually sent to the guillotine himself in 1794 after the French turned against him when their eyes opened and say what he had done. He didn't even have a trial, and was beheaded faced upwards.
