Ok...first things first...more live than die (I think). It wouldn't be much fun to be spoiled, would it? It is, in the end, very bittersweet, as there are deaths that will open up the tear spigots for you if you've grown particularly fond of that character or their role, and some of them grow more tragic as you unravel their true meaning in Harry's quest. Some have a very important purpose for their death, others you are glad they are dead, and in the end, there are some that died pointlessly.
It'll be for you to decide, so I have three words for you: Read the book! You'll be happy you did, because (in my opinion) it is the best in the series.
