The Battle of Britain was and still is the largest aircraft battle that happened between Britain along with Canada against Germany and Italy. This battle lasted from the 10th of July to the 31st of October 1940. In this battle the German Luftwaffe tried in vain to bomb Britain into submission whilst facing an out numbered Royal Air Force... However the Royal Air Force was a far better fighting force than the Luftwaffe and there for crushed the Luftwaffe, a blow that Germany never recovered from. In this battle Great Britain and Canada lost 544 men along with 1547 aircraft where as Germany and Italy lost 2698 men and 1887 aircraft.
