The Developer is Kyle Stewart. Started in 2008. Kyle bought yoville from someone else in 2009, and turned it into Zynga games along with Mark Pincus. So no, the answer above is not totally correct. Yoville started off fun and with no yocash, but Zynga turned around and bought them out and started charging to play by having to buy some items that are yocash items. Though Yoville has gone through many changes sinse Zynga took it over, it is now becoming to much to keep up with in regards to expenses as well as to many updates of themes without to many fixes.
