Galileo, happend in the late 1600s
It was not discovered. God made the Earth and and He made Adam and Eve who were the first people on Earth.. It was not discovered. NOTE: Many things exist without being technically "discovered". Earth is one example of many.
the first person to discover earth was round was god he made the earth in a spherical shape b00m theres ur answer
Originally it was a rotating liquid mass, which led to a sphere which is swelled at the equator and flattened at the poles.
Tidal forces made it rotate that way. We can assume that in the far past, it may have rotated faster; tidal forces made it slow down. (In principle, it's also possible that it rotated slower and that tidal forces made it speed up.) Similarly, the Earth is rotating slower and slower; one far day in the future, the Earth will always show the same side to the Moon. Of course, once an object is rotating at a certain speed, it requires no force to make it continue rotating.
Angular momentum in the cloud of stuff from which it formed was conserved, meaning that the Earth was formed spinning. Since there's no substantial force acting on it to make it stop, it continues to spin ... slowing down ever so gradually, from the point of view of a human lifetime, because of the frictional 'drag' of the ocean tides.
The earth rotates in everyday life. Without the rotation of the earth one side of earth will be day all the time and one will be dark all the time. Wheels on vehicles rotate and provide easy locomotion. Without rotating, if I start walking in a direction I would have to keep on going until I had walked around the whole earth before I could get back to where I had started. Boring holes (for example to put up shelves) is made easier by a rotating drill. Electric tooth brushes and razors use a rotating motor which is connected via some linkage to create a to-and-fro motion. Without the compressor in a fridge or freezer rotating to compress the coolant gas they would be no use for storing food. Taps require rotating (turning) to allow the flow of water in a (modern) home.
Ancient Greek philosopher Pythagoras is often credited with first proposing the idea of a spherical Earth around 500 BC, based on observations of the shape of the Earth's shadow during a lunar eclipse.
This is not something "made up"; the year is related to Earth's orbit around the Sun. 1 year = one round of Earth around the Sun.
i think it was adam and eve because there were the first people in earth but i think it was god tht made them
Although nobody knows for sure who first made the discovery that the earth is round, Pythagoras is indeed regarded as being the first recorded person to make the claim that the earth is round.
People at the dark ages, were taught that the earth was the middle and the sun circled around it. Copernican heliocentrism is the name given to the astronomical model developed by Nicolaus Copernicus and published in 1543. It positioned the Sun near the center of the Universe, motionless, with Earth and the other planets rotating around it in circular paths modified by epicycles and at uniform speeds.
Christopher Columbus was against the idea that the earth is flat. He tried to sail around the world to prove it. Instead of reaching India (as was his intent), he was the second person (Leif Erikson was the first in 1002.) in 1492 to discover the Americas. He made four more voyages afterwards.
