Scientifically speaking, it was a supernova star that exploded and sent matter into space. this matter collected and pressurized creating the sun's spark. once the sun came, the chunks of rock, dust, and other stuff started orbiting it and collided together to make bigger chunks, which turned into the rocky planets, Mercury, Venus earth, and mars. the gas giants came the same way the sun did. the gases and pressure, and other forces, squeezed gas together and made gas giants. If you were looking for a religious answer you'll need to specify which religion, but generally speaking, it was either a god or some other supernatural being.
