The wheel must have been invented more than 5,000 years ago.(3000BC + 2000AD) I don't even believe that you could find agreement on which country or region wasresponsible for the invention. The first wheels were quite possibly prepared logs that were used to assist in moving something heavy. They would roll when something heavy on top was pushed. They would have to be moved back to the front manually as the object moved forward. Later someone would have invented an axle for a wheel to move on and with two wheels would be well on there way to inventing a two wheel cart.
