Talking clocks are intended for use by people who cannot see well enough to read the time. Toddlers do not learn to tell time. Pre-schoolers can begin to the learn the basics, but learning to read an analog clock or watch continues into the third and sometimes fourth grade. Children learn to tell time by learning how the clock is set up, how minutes are counted and what the big hand means as opposed to the little hand. There is a specific language that goes with learning to tell time, too (half-past; quarter til, etc.) It takes time. A talking clock does not teach any child to tell time.
